The department of vascular and endovascular surgery at SMBBIT Karachi is dedicated to saving the lives and limbs of patients that are debilitated by complex vascular conditions since 2016. We stand at the forefront of vascular care providing free of cost modern vascular testing services and traditional surgical interventions to minimally invasive endovascular procedures to patients from all across Pakistan.

We strongly believe that treatment and care should take into account the patient’s needs and preferences. We are well aware of the distress and suffering which vascular diseases can bring about. Therefore, we make sure that the patient, their families, and the career are provided with relevant information and support which enables them to make informed decisions in association with their health care providers. We make sure that they understand the course of the disease and what we can do to help prevent its progression, the cause of the symptoms, and the risk and benefit of all available treatment options.

The unit is supported by vascular physicians, experienced nursing staff, radiologists, and rotating physiotherapists who work closely to deliver acute vascular care as well as intensive monitoring for post-procedure patients. If, however, the patient requires a higher level of care, the ward has a backup of intensive care and high dependency beds. Furthermore, frequent collaborations are made with medicine, cardiology, and nephrology teams in order to ensure multidisciplinary.
